City and Guilds Train the Trainer Course

Develop Effective Training Skills

Our Train the Trainer course will help you develop training skills to be able to deliver an effective training session.

The Train the Trainer course, certified by City & Guilds (7300), will give you an understanding of how people learn so that your learners take away the knowledge and skills they need. We aim to make this a practical and fun course based soundly on theories and models of learning. You will find this course gives you the confidence and skills to be an effective trainer.

There are 2 parts to the course:

Part 1 is the access to 4 e-learning modules which you work through at a pace that suits your learning. For groups of 2 or more you can choose to receive training by live webinar training sessions of 2 x 2hour duration.

As a result of the training you plan a structured and interactive micro teach session to cover 20 minutes of delivery. Support for Part 1 is given by email and phone.

Part 2 is the delivery of your micro teach at a face to face session with a small group. In addition, you carry out a short multiple choice test. The successful completion of the micro teach and the test means you can achieve the Train the Trainer certificate.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, we can carry out a live video assessment of the micro teach session. You organise a small group to deliver to at a venue of your choice and arrange for your trainer to observe the session via webinar software and a webcam. This setup would need to be checked to confirm the technology works as required, and so that it can be an approved observation according to City and Guilds’ requirements.

Of course, you may wish to wait for a future date when a live observation can be carried out at our venue. You can, however, get started straight away with the learning and be ready for when restrictions are fully lifted.
